Guided Participation Intensives
Often when a child has a regulation difference or learning challenge, the guiding relationship intrinsic to the parent becomes dysfunctional. This can lead to the family structure feeling rudderless, chaotic, with children becoming distant, hard to guide, and challenged to respect household rules or another person’s perspective. Parent’s forge on exhausted and unsuccessful to reinstate the parent child relationship.
In the Guided Participation Intensives, the parent will be given a full tool kit of new skills to be more effective as the captains of the family ship.
These skills include:
- How to set up environment for success
- Balance multi-sensory language exchanges
- Pacing to meet child’s skills
- How to observe and make available tools for children to better regulate
- Motor planning supports
- Collaborative Problem solving for effective behavioral resets
- Setting limits within an appropriate framework of legitimate roles
- How to understand their regulation as a parent partner- triggers and resets
- Specific education in the challenges and core deficits of their unique child that impact their ability as a partner in the guided relationship
